Discussion on hidden fire hazards and fire prevent

In recent years, school fires have occurred frequently all over the country, causing significant economic losses and political negative effects for the country. Teenagers are the hope and future of the motherland. Schools shoulder the heavy responsibility of the country to cultivate talents for socialist modernization. Therefore, we should strengthen school fire control work and reduce the occurrence of campus fires, Protecting students' personal safety and healthy growth is the sacred duty and glorious obligation of every firefighter. On the occasion of the national "two sessions" this year, the author cooperated with the Bureau of culture, the Bureau of work safety and other departments to conduct a fire inspection of some primary and secondary schools. According to the inspection, the author mainly discusses the current fire hazards and fire prevention countermeasures in township schools

I. there are fire hazards in the current school

(I) fire fighting equipment and other fire safety facilities are seriously insufficient. At this stage, the construction of school buildings in various villages and towns is of different ages. Some were built in the 1950s and 1960s, and even before liberation. Due to historical reasons at that time, there were no special and specific provisions on the allocation of fire safety facilities. Later, although some fire-fighting facilities were supplemented, some fire-fighting equipment could not be put into use because they had been used for too long and there were no replaceable parts now, which basically led to paralysis. In addition, due to poor management, polylactic acid, which makes fire-extinguishing equipment unusable, has no pollution problem in the whole production process, which can not be ignored. For example, the long-term lack of maintenance of fire hydrants leads to corrosion, the closed cover cannot be opened, the valve plug cannot open and close the water supply, and the inner root of the pipeline. There are 9 kinds of water-free combinations, the nozzle of the fire extinguisher is blocked, the agent has chemical resistance, mechanical resistance, and the output tension of the control hydraulic cylinder, heat stress failure damage Loss and other phenomena are serious. Due to the lack of funds, there is no way to talk about automatic fire-fighting facilities in schools. However, with the increasing risk of fire and electricity in schools, the current school fire safety facilities are increasingly unable to meet the needs of fire prevention and fire extinguishing, and the fire safety facilities need to be improved urgently

(II) there are many inherent fire hazards in the building itself. At present, brick and wood structure buildings in township schools are common, and the fire resistance rating of these buildings is generally low. At that time, the technical specifications for building design fire prevention and other aspects were not perfect, and they did not belong to the planning area of the town, so the fire department's fire prevention audit of these buildings was lack of operability. Illegal design and construction of schools are common, resulting in unreasonable layout of buildings, blocked fire passages, insufficient fire separation between flammable buildings, fire and smoke prevention separation of large buildings, and a large number of flammable materials used in internal decoration. For example, some old-fashioned teaching buildings only have an evacuation staircase without fire and smoke prevention partitions, and the school auditorium has problems such as insufficient number of exits and too narrow exits. Some schools have blocked the evacuation passages in order to maintain the order of teaching and performance. When the friendship hotel in Karamay, Xinjiang burned, only one of the eight evacuation doors was opened, resulting in 323 deaths and 130 injuries. The vicious fire accident is a typical example

(III) fire hazards in student dormitories are particularly serious. Most student dormitories are collective dormitories, often one class, or even one big dormitory for one grade. The most serious is the rural township school with relatively backward economy. The dormitory is filled with beds, which are almost bunks on the upper, middle and lower floors, with beds next to beds. Less than 40 square meters can accommodate 32 people, and there are all kinds of books and other learning and living supplies, hanging all kinds of clothes and accessories. It is crowded and uncomfortable, and the fire is imminent. In addition, some school buildings' electrical lines are directly inserted into inflammable and combustible building materials such as wood and bamboo, and they have not been repaired and replaced for many years. The electrical lines are as messy as spiders, and problems such as insulation layer falling off and wire core exposure are also common. Some students randomly pull and connect wires, use electric irons, electric mattresses, tape recorders, and even use electric stoves to light fires and cook food in the dormitory, privately use candles, kerosene lamps, etc. to study overtime after turning off the lights, smoke mosquitoes with open flames in summer, students with bad smoking habits throw cigarette butts, and other illegal use of electricity and other problems still exist. In order to strengthen the management of dormitory theft prevention, some schools have added iron fences and iron wires, which makes the potential fire hazards worrying

(IV) weak awareness of fire safety. Individual teachers and students believe that only factories and mines, enterprises and institutions, public entertainment places, shopping malls, market fairs, cinemas and other places can have a fire. The school has no inflammable and explosive substances, and the fire power consumption is small, so it is not easy to have a fire. It seems that they are far away from the fire, and they have a poor awareness of fire safety hazards. They usually do not know how to prevent fire, panic in case of fire, and neither escape nor alarm, and even do not know that the fire alarm is "119", Know nothing about fire safety. The author randomly selected 10 students in a school, only 3 of whom would give the correct alarm, 5 full-time housekeeping teachers, 3 of whom would give the alarm, and 1 of whom would use a fire extinguisher. The awareness of fire safety is worrying
